Do Something: Bierfest, Polar Bear Plunges to take place this weekend

Additionally, Super Bowl celebrations continue in Moorestown, and the seventh annual Philly Bierfest will feature nearly two dozen Pennsylvania craft and legacy brewers.

Polar bear plunges will be taking place in multiple Jersey Shore towns this weekend and an annual German beer festival returns to Philadelphia. Find out what other activities are happening around your neighborhood this weekend.

In Gloucester County

  • Teens in need of SAT prep can head to the Monroe Township Free Public Library in Williamstown to take a free practice exam on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The exam will give students an assessment of what they should work on. Registration, as well a library card, is required to attend.
  • The Monroe Township library is additionally a hosting YuGiOh Tournament Day for kids ages 13 t 19 on Saturday, from 12 to 2 p.m. No sign-up is necessary, and newcomers are welcome to attend.

Around South Jersey

  • Moorestown will be celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl win on Saturday. Township Council will honor Eagles head coach and Moorestown resident Doug Pederson in a special ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. on the front lawn of the Moorestown Community House, located at 16 East Main Street in Moorestown.   • Fans of The Beatles will want to be at Dennis Flyer Theater in Blackwood on Saturday evening. “Beatlemania Again” will be performed beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the theater, located on the campus of Camden County College. At the Jersey Shore

  • Seaside Heights will hosts its 25th annual Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday at 1 p.m. on the beach in front of Spicy Cantina. All are invited to join the thousands of brave jumpers from around New Jersey. Funds raised from the event will support Special Olympics New Jersey programming and events. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. and the plunge will begin at 1 p.m. Registration is available the day of the event for $125 per person.   • Another Polar Bear Plunge will take place on Saturday in North Wildwood. The Fallen Heroes Polar Bear Plunge will begin at 11 a.m. at 15th Street and the beach in North Wildwood. Proceeds will benefit the Philadelphia Police Fallen Heroes Fund, MRSA Awareness and local scholarships. In Philadelphia

  • The seventh annual Philly Bierfest will take place from 2 to 5:30 p.m. at The German Society of Pennsylvania, 611 Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia. Nearly two dozen Pennsylvania craft and legacy brewers will participate. There will also be more than two dozen brands of imported beers from Germany.   • This weekend is the last chance to enjoy the Dilworth Park Wintergarden for the season. The Wintergarden’s last day of operation is Sunday.
