Having published her first piece of writing, “Alicia’s Alarm,” in elementary school, the 29-year-old daydreamer now anticipates the release of her sixth novel, “Smarty Pants: How to Become a Valedictorian” in April.
A wish to ‘feed the soul:’ Bianca’s Kids grants wishes of more than 20,000 children in need
Debbie Savigliano is no stranger to loss, but when her 21-year-old niece Bianca Yodice was struck and killed by a car while walking to work in August 2010, something changed within her. Savigliano said she fell into a deep, dark depression she struggled to climb out of, and it wasn’t until she was given a sign amid her grief that she saw a glimmer of hope — a whisper in her ear that would lead to granting the wishes of more than 20,000 children in need through the creation of her nonprofit Bianca’s Kids.
Free Public Library of Monroe Township to offer free museum passes for card holders
The Free Public Library of Monroe Library is now offering residents the opportunity to sign out museum passes. According to the library’s Facebook page, the museum pass program is part of its mission to provide educational, professional, cultural and recreational information and services. Museums included in the program are the Academy of Natural Sciences, Battleship New Jersey, Garden State Discovery Museum, Grounds for Sculpture, Independence Seaport Museum and the Wheaton Arts & Cultural Center.
