The Mullica Hill Branch Library hosts 3D printer and modeling classes

Information obtained from www.gcls.org.

The Mullica Hill Library Branch frequently offers an uncanny list of interactive events for Mullica Hill and Mantua residents.

On Jan. 31, individuals interested in 3D modeling are offered a field day. From 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., those interested can gain certification to use the the library’s MakerBot Replicator 3D printer in the MakerStudio. Registration is required, visit www.gcls.org.

From 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., there will be an introductory course to Blender, a powerful open-source 3D modeling software. Blender is capable of creating high resolution 3d models, computer graphic movies, photo-realistic renders, 3D physics based games, and more.

While it is an introductory class, this class is suited for those with a working knowledge of computers and requires patience and curiosity.

The class on the Blender interface will focus on creating basic shapes and learning simple lighting techniques. Future classes will cover animation, texture mapping, and 3D printing objects. To register, call 856–223–6011, or visit, www.gcls.org.

Both classes are for ages 13 and up.
