Annual fundraiser for Evesham Saving Lives program set for Feb. 3

The program has given more than 6,000 free rides to Evesham and Voorhees residents since the inception of the program to combat drunk driving.

Evesham Township officials are promoting the annual fundraiser to raise money for the Evesham Saving Lives program.

This year’s fundraiser is set for Feb. 3 at the Indian Spring Country Club and will once again raise money for the saving lives program in order to continue the fight against drunk driving on the local level.

The program continues to provide Evesham and Voorhees residents with free rides home through private taxi service Uber from the hours of 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. from establishments in Evesham and Voorhees that sell alcoholic beverages.

Evesham Township Chief of Police Christopher Chew said his department has observed a decline in DWI arrests by 18 percent last year overall compared to 2016, and over an 80 percent decline of arrests of Evesham residents leaving Evesham establishments.

According to Chew, the Evesham Savings Lives Program has given more than 6,000 free rides to Evesham and Voorhees residents since the inception of the program.

Tickets for the fundraiser on Feb. 3 may be purchased either online at www.evesham-celebration-foundation.ticketleap.com/evesham-saves-lives or by calling Monica Vandenberg or Allison Bittner at (856) 985–9792.

The event will last from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. and will include butlered Hors D’oeuvres and a buffet dinner.

Music at the event will be provided by the band 80’s Revenge.
