Williamstown man arrested on charges of possession, distribution of child pornography

Leonard J. Pozniak, 27, was arrested by officers of the Gloucester County Prosecutor”s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit on Friday, Jan. 19

Officers of the Gloucester County Prosecutor”s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit on Friday, Jan. 19, arrested Leonard J. Pozniak, 27, of Williamstown on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.

A search warrant was executed at Pozniak’s residence with the assistance of the Monroe Township Police Department and the New Jersey State Police. Pozniak, who is unemployed, was arrested at that time.

Also assisting in the investigation was the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

Pozniak was processed at GCPO offices and turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office for transport to the Salem County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.

Distribution of child pornography is a second-degree crime with a sentencing range upon conviction of five to 10 years in New Jersey state prison. The possession offense is a third-degree crime with a sentencing range of three to five years in state prison.
