The Monroe Township Public School District Board of Education voted to move forward with engineer proposals that would address drainage and HVAC problems at Holly Glen Elementary School, while Superintendent Charles Earling looks ahead to the final stretch of the 2017–18 school year. Safety of staff and students a district priority in the new year

As the second half of the 2017–18 school year approaches, Superintendent Charles Earling said the Monroe Township Public School District’s top priorities are to maintain the health and safety of students and staff, as well as to ensure its children are receiving a quality, well-balanced education.

Board of Education makes moves to remediate Holly Glen Elementary School mold

The next steps in the remediation of mold at Holly Glen Elementary School were a major point of discussion at last week’s Board of Education meeting. The board approved two proposals from district engineering consultant Federici & Akin to move forward in addressing the elementary school’s HVAC system and drainage that had caused mold contamination found in October.

Homicide victim found in Monroe Township home

The body of Steve M. Bucher, 56, of Cedar Terrace in the Timber Lakes section of Monroe Township, was found in his Monroe Township home Wednesday night, Jan. 10. An autopsy conducted by the Gloucester County Medical Examiner determined the cause of Bucher’s death was a gunshot wound and the manner of death was homicide.
