The following information is on file with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department:
On Jan. 16 at 5:58 p.m., patrols responded to a business on the 3800 block of Church Road for a report of theft. The business owner reports she had three employees resign on Jan. 6. Shortly thereafter, she discovered approximately $2,800 worth of merchandise, $1,740 in U.S. currency, and employee files missing from the business. One of the three suspected ex-employees is also in possession of a company computer that police say she is refusing to return.
On Jan. 16 at 6:49 a.m., patrols responded to a business on Centerton Road for a report of theft. The victim reported her Apple iPhone, $175 in cash and three credit cards were taken from her unlocked vehicle. During the investigation, it was learned the victim’s credit cards were used at several area locations.
On Jan. 15 at 5:37 p.m., patrols responded to a business on Ark Road for the report of a counterfeit money complaint. The manager of the store reported he received two counterfeit $100 bills bearing the same serial number at an unknown time. Burlington Township Police alerted the manager to the possible counterfeit money. BTP arrested a male subject in their township who was found to have a receipt from the business on Ark Road as well as additional counterfeit $100 bills in his possession.
On Jan. 15 at 12:56 p.m., patrols responded to a hotel on the 4100 block of Church Road. The victim reported his girlfriend left him and his son at the hotel and she departed the location. He stated prior to leaving, his girlfriend stole $250 from his wallet. He was advised of the complaint process.
On Jan. 14 at 1:04 a.m. patrol officers conducted a suspicious vehicle investigation in the parking lot of a hotel on Crawford Place. A male and female occupant were both found to be under the influence of marijuana. Upon arresting both subjects, they were found to be in possession of false driver’s license from out of state and credit cards in the name of other subjects. Both were charged with possession of false government documents, credit card theft and being under the influence of CDS. They were charged and released pending a future court date.
On Jan. 14 at 10:19 p.m., patrol officers conducted a suspicious vehicle investigation in the area of the 2900 block of Saxony Drive. The investigation revealed the two male suspects parked in the vehicle were in possession of a marijuana smoking pipe, a CDS grinder and a small quantity of marijuana. Both subjects were arrested, charged and released pending a future court date.
On Jan. 14, 2018 at 5:52 p.m., patrols responded to a business on Centerton Road for a report of two shoplifters fleeing the store. Loss Prevention reports approximately $200 in merchandise was stolen from the business. The suspects were seen leaving the area in a Ford Explorer with Georgia registration.
On Jan. 13 at 11 p.m., officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 for motor vehicle violations. Officers detected a strong odor of raw and burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The driver stated he smoked marijuana and advised the officers there was currently marijuana in the vehicle. Officers then observed a black handgun in plain view near the back seat of the vehicle where the driver was reaching. The driver was arrested without incident. A plastic baggy with suspected marijuana and a black Taurus Air Soft Gun (with no red cap or indication of it being an airsoft gun) was retrieved from the vehicle. The suspect was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana under 50g. He was released on a summons pending a future court date.
On Jan. 13 7:41 a.m., patrols, EMS and paramedics responded to Sharrow Lane for a report of a drug overdose. Officers discovered an unconscious female in her bedroom, unresponsive and not breathing. The female was suspected to have overdosed on heroin. Officers administered one dose of Narcan and EMS administered an additional dose of Narcan. The victim regained consciousness and was transported to Mt. Holly for further medical treatment. Bags with suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia were found by officers. The victim was immune from charges under the Drug Overdose Prevention Act.
On Jan. 11 at 12:15 p.m., officers responded to Yarmouth Lane for a report of burglary. The victim reported while in her upstairs residence, she heard a loud banging noise. The victim reported when she went to her stairwell she observed an unknown actor running up the stairs. The victim reported the suspect then fled the residence. The victim reported she went outside and observed a purple or blue colored vehicle parked in front of her home. The vehicle quickly left the area. A witness also stated they observed a blue colored vehicle leaving the scene. Investigation is ongoing. No suspect description at this time.
On Jan. 10 at 10:27 p.m., an officer was patrolling the parking lots of Dearborne Circle after a report of theft of a wallet and keys from a business located on Dearborn Circle. The officer observed a male exiting a light colored vehicle. The subject then entered the passenger’s side of a black SUV and the driver quickly drove away. As the vehicle departed the lot, the officer conducted a motor vehicle stop. During the stop, police received another report of theft of a coat and car keys from the business. The male passenger of the stopped motor vehicle admitted to entering a Honda Civic, but could not provide a valid reason for entering the vehicle. The stolen coat and the stolen car keys were found inside the vehicle. The passenger then admitted to taking the items from the business on Dearborn Circle. It was determined at the scene the driver was unaware of the passenger’s actions. The suspect was taken into custody and charged on a warrant for criminal mischief and theft. He was remanded to the Burlington County Jail.
On Jan. 10 at 9:02 a.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Manchester Way. The driver, a male, surrendered a bag of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was charged with possession of marijuana under 50g and drug paraphernalia. He was released on a summons pending a future court date.
