Cherry Hill BOE approves new contract for superintendent

About halfway through Cherry Hill Superintendent Joe Meloche’s original contract with the district, the Cherry Hill Board of Education decided to rescind the contract and replace it was a new, five-year agreement at its meeting on Tuesday evening. The new contract will keep Meloche employed in Cherry Hill Public School through the 2021–22 school year.

New and familiar faces get sworn in to town council Friday, Jan. 5

A new face joined Cherry Hill Township Council on Jan. 5. Sangeeta Doshi, the first Indian-American ever elected to Cherry Hill Township Council, was sworn in to her first term during council’s reorganization meeting. Also being sworn in to new terms were three council members who won re-election last November, Dave Fleisher, Carolyn Jacobs and Carole Roskoph.

Cherry Hill Township looks forward to 2018

Cherry Hill Township will be focusing on a few areas as the calendar turns over to 2018. The township is preparing to take the next steps toward revising its Master Plan with public meetings coming during the months of February and March. Cherry Hill is also planning to make upgrades to a number of its parks and roads. Many of the same township events from years past will also be back on the calendar in 2018.

First place Cherry Hill East ice hockey looking to make improvements as it aims for title defense

Cherry Hill East Ice Hockey has been at the top of the South Jersey High School Hockey League standings for nearly the entire season. Cherry Hill East registered wins in 11 of its 13 games and had an 11-game unbeaten streak entering its Jan. 12 game against St. Joseph’s. The team is looking to win its second straight Tier II championship this season after winning the title in 2016–17.

Cherry Hill East boys swimming focusing on team unity in title defense season

Just like Cherry Hill East Ice Hockey, the Cherry Hill High School East boys swimming team is also focused on defending a title this season. The Cougars hope to win their second consecutive state championship, something the program hasn’t done in about 40 years. The Cherry Hill East team captains talked of how a ‘we’ mentalist and team bonding are essential to their success.
