Mt. Laurel Police reports list car thefts, physical altercations and apparent drug overdose death

The following information is on file with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department:

On Jan. 7 at 10:08 a.m., patrols responded to Tulip Court for the report of a theft from a vehicle. The victim reports that sometime between Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. and Jan. 8 at 9 a.m., an unknown suspect entered his unsecure vehicle and stole his wallet, cell phone and jacket.

On Jan. 7 at 1:23 a.m., patrols responded to a residence on the 3900 block of Tarnbrook Drive for the report of a theft from a residence. The victim reported that she recently hired someone to clean her residence by using an application called Thumbtack. On Jan. 6 between 9 and 11:30 a.m., a male (suspect) came to the residence to clean. Shortly after the male left, the victim noticed that a Nintendo Switch and a men’s Citizen Watch had been stolen.

On Jan. 6 at 6:18 a.m., patrols responded to a residence on the 2000 block of Staghorn Drive for the report of a motor vehicle theft. The victim resident reported that she parked her vehicle in a visitor parking lot due to snow removal operations in her neighborhood. She last saw her vehicle on Jan. 5 at 11 p.m. When she went to check on the vehicle at approximately 6 a.m. on Jan. 6, it was gone.

On Jan. 5 at 9:21 p.m., patrols responded to a business on the 3000 block of Route 38 for the report of disorderly juveniles. The manager reported that after three juveniles became rowdy in the store, he asked them to leave. One of the juveniles approached the manager and threatened to beat him up. The manager also stated that a week prior to this incident, one of the involved juveniles smashed a Christmas decoration while at the business. Officers spoke to the juveniles and their parents responded to the location to pick them up.

On Jan. 5 at 4:50 p.m., patrols responded to the ShopRite on Ark Road for the report of a vehicle that was damaged overnight. The victim reported that she parked her vehicle in the parking lot at approximately 2 p.m. on Jan. 4 and left the vehicle in the parking lot overnight due to the snow and bad road conditions. When she returned to the vehicle on Jan. 5 at 4 p.m., she observed six slashes in her vehicle’s tire.

On Jan. 5 at 9:19 a.m., patrols responded to a residence on Wharton Road for the report of their vehicles being entered and items stolen overnight. The victim resident reports that between Jan. 4 at 5:30 p.m. and Jan. 5 at 7:30 a.m., an unknown suspect entered both of their unsecure vehicles and stole a wallet containing various credit cards and driver license.

On Jan. 5, at 9:19 a.m., patrols responded to another residence on Wharton Road for the report of their vehicle being entered and items stolen overnight. The victim resident reports that between Jan. at 5:30 p.m. and Jan. 5 at 7:30 a.m., an unknown suspect entered her unsecure vehicle and stole her purse containing various credit cards driver license and cash.

On Jan. 5 at 8:03 a.m., patrols responded to a residence on Buckingham Way for the report of their vehicle being ransacked overnight. The victim resident reports that between Jan. 4 at 1:30 p.m. and Jan. 5 at 7:30 a.m., an unknown suspect entered her unsecure vehicle and ransacked the center console and glove box. No items wre reported stolen.

On Jan. 4 at 11:48 p.m., an officer was investigating an animal complaint on the 300 block of Courtney Way. During the investigation, it was determined that a 29-year-old male from Beverly was wanted out of the Burlington County Sheriff’s Office in default of child support. The suspect was turned over to the Burlington County Jail pending a future court date.

On Jan. 4 at 12:34 p.m., patrols and EMS responded to the 1400 block of Sedgefield Drive for a wellness check. It was reported that the resident had an opiate addiction history and had not been heard from. Patrol officers entered the residence and located the 29-year-old resident deceased due to an apparent drug overdose.

On Jan. 4 at 2:09 a.m., patrols responded to a residence on the 1000 block of Union Mill Road for the report of a motor vehicle theft. The victim resident reported that his 2017 F250 pickup truck was stolen from his driveway at approximately 1:41 a.m. A male suspect wearing jeans, hoodie, jacket and sneakers was observed on video surveillance covering his face. The vehicle was last seen traveling on Union Mill Road towards Elbo Lane.

On Jan. 3 at 9:21 p.m., patrols responded to an eatery on Centerton Road for a report of a fight in progress. An employee who was involved in the physical altercation reports that while working, she was confronted by a past acquaintance. During the confrontation, the acquaintance struck her with a metal container. The manager of the store broke up the fight and the acquaintance fled the scene in a vehicle. Patrols located the vehicle and the occupants stated that they were involved, however they were the victims of the assault. All involved were advised of the complaint process.
