Children are invited to discover and explore the world of robotics, math, chess and 3D design/animation with hands on activities.
South Jersey Innovation Center (SJIC), home to STEM and child enrichment programs, is celebrating its one year anniversary with an interactive open house on Saturday, Jan. 6, from 1 to 4 p.m.
The event will be held onsite at 2003 Lincoln Drive West, Suite A, in Marlton.
Open to the public, children of all ages are invited to discover and explore the world of robotics, math, chess and 3D design/animation with hands on activities are planned for each curriculum.
As kids take part in discovery, a lively, fast-paced chess tournament featuring Blindfold, Bughouse and Blitz championships will be in play and parents are able to tour the facility while visiting with the director and meeting instructors and staff.
The event will culminate with a trophy presentation for outstanding mathletes, best 3D animation, stock market competitors, chess tournament winners and other 2017 achievers.
Light refreshments will be served and RSVPs are requested.
“We are extremely excited to celebrate our one year milestone and it’s just the beginning,” said SJIC Director, Dov Gorman. “The current Center programs are being expanded, including the return of robotics classes for beginners and above. We offer both enrichment curriculum alongside programs that foster the spirit of competition and skills needed to excel at the highest levels. Watching children do what they enjoy and do it well is extremely rewarding.”
Located off Route 73 South and Greentree Road, SJIC offers enrichment and competitive programs meant to help children develop life skills, critical thinking and creativity through STEM programs and activities for students of all levels starting at age 6.
