On Dec. 18 at 11:16 p.m., patrols responded to the area of Timberline Drive and Maple Road for the report of an overturned vehicle. Investigation revealed that a 26-year-old male from Hainesport dropped off his ex-girlfriend at her boyfriend’s residence on the 300 block of Timberline Drive. While at the residence, the male got into a verbal argument with the new boyfriend’s brother, which escalated into a vehicle(s) fleeing the scene. This incident subsequently ended with a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Timberline Drive and Maple Road. During the investigation, it was determined that there was a 2-year-old juvenile in the vehicle during the crash. No injuries were reported. After the crash, the male driver reportedly hid a firearm in an adjacent yard. He then told his 26-year-old female passenger from Lumberton to retrieve the weapon. Officers on scene observed her retrieve an item that ended up being the handgun. Due to the investigation, the male driver was arrested and charged with Possession of a handgun, possession of hollow point bullets, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of CDS paraphernalia, certain persons not to possess firearms, tampering with evidence, and child neglect for recklessly operating his vehicle and the above offenses with his child in his presence. The female passenger was charged with, possession of a handgun, possession of hollow point bullets and tampering with evidence. Both were remanded to the Burlington County Jail pending a future court date.
On Dec. 16 at 9:19 p.m., patrols responded to the Panera Bread in Centerton Square for the report of a theft of a wallet from a purse. The victim reported that unknown suspect stole her wallet out of her purse while at the Panera Bread. The suspect then fraudulently used the victim’s credit cards to purchase more than $10,000 in gift cards and other merchandise from local stores.
On Dec. 16 at 9:12 a.m., patrols responded to Hovtech Boulevard for the report of multiple smash and grabs from vehicles. Three victims reported that while their vehicles were parked between 9 a.m. and 9:12 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed their passenger side windows and stole money and wallets.
On Dec. 14 at 1:15 p.m., patrols responded to Home Depot on Nixon Drive for a report of a shoplifting. Employees stated that a male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt entered the store and selected approximately $800 in merchandise. The male suspect then left the store without paying for the merchandise. The suspect left the area in a teal colored Ford Freestyle.
On Dec. 14, at 12:35 a.m., patrols responded to the 5500 block of Adelaide Drive for the report of a suspicious person entering parked motor vehicles. Patrols responded to the area and located a 29-year-old male from Browns Mills in a vehicle. They also observed footprints in the snow that indicated multiple vehicles were targeted. The male admitted to entering and stealing from the vehicle. He was subsequently arrested. Search incident to arrest revealed property from multiple vehicles. It was determined that the suspect also had multiple traffic warrants for his arrest from multiple jurisdictions. He was processed and released on a summons for the burglary and thefts from vehicles pending a future court date. He was then turned over to Mount Holly Township Police for an outstanding warrant.
On Dec. 13, a resident of Mt. Laurel came into HQ to report that she was contacted by Kohl’s Department Store in regards to fraudulent activity on her Kohl’s store card. Investigation revealed that suspects were arrested in Wallingford, Conn. and had a credit card in their possession bearing her information. It was determined that the suspects made several withdrawals from the victims bank account and used the funds to pay off other Kohl’s credit cards not belonging to the victim.
On Dec. 13 at 3:12 p.m., patrols, EMS, and paramedics responded to a motel on the 1100 block of Route 73 for the report of a drug overdose. Responders located a 34-year-old male from Pleasantville suspected to be unresponsive due to an overdose on illegal drugs. Narcan was administered and reversed the overdose. He was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
On Dec. 12 at 7:37 p.m., patrols responded to the 400 block of Kelham Court for the report of a package theft. The victim reports that an Amazon package was delivered to her residence and an email order status claimed the package was signed for. When she arrived home, she found the package was leaned up against a garage door around the corner from the front door. The package had been tampered with as it was opened and an item stolen. The victim advised that a family member was home all day and did not sign for anything.
On Dec. 12, at 1:02 p.m., patrols responded to 18000 Horizon Way, for the report of a criminal mischief. An employee reported that between the hours of 10 and 11:15 a.m., an unknown suspect cut speaker wires, a monitor wire, and a power cord connected to a computer located at the front desk. The desk was unoccupied at the time of the damage.
On Dec. 12 at 6:22 a.m., patrols responded to a hotel on the 1400 block of Nixon Drive for a report of suspected prostitution activity. Upon arrival, patrols made contact with a 22-year-old female from Barrington who provided false names to avoid arrest for warrants in multiple jurisdictions totaling $2,100. Search incident to arrest revealed; heroin, crack cocaine, prescription legend drugs and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, prescription legend drugs, drug paraphernalia and hindering apprehension. She was released on a summons pending a future court date for her warrants and new charges.
