Cinnaminson Public Library now offering STEM activities

This month’s theme is rocks and crystals, so be sure to check it out before December ends

The library’s new STEM cart, geared primarily for visitors ages 10 to 14, features a wide variety of kits designed to foster creativity, innovation and learning through hands-on experimentation and play. One of the current favorite kits is Strawbees, a prototyping tool that allows makers to build mechanical objects of varying size with straws. Other kits include Snap Circuits, Lego Machines and Magnet Science.

The new STEM cart debuted at the library this fall. It encourages groups, families and individuals to hang out and make stuff and features a different theme every month. Last month’s theme was Spies and Ciphers, and this month they’re featuring rocks and crystals. In addition, a special selection of topic-related books is displayed on the cart and programs throughout the month incorporate various cart materials related to the theme.
