Evesham Township School District Board of Education president and vice president say goodbye

This week was the final meeting for Evesham Township School District Board of Education president JoAnne Harmon and board vice president Sandy Student. Each member chose not to run for re-election this year, and so the two spent time reflecting on their service to the board.

Two members of the Evesham Township School District Board of Education said goodbye to their time on the board this week. Board president JoAnne Harmon and vice president Sandy Student each decided against running for re-election this year, meaning the board’s December meeting was their final time sitting in front of the board’s audience, rather than among the board’s audience.

Evesham Township officials defend township’s use of Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) program

Evesham Township officials have once again publicly defended the township’s use of the state’s Payment In Lieu of Taxes program in recent years as a factor in the township’s recent economic redevelopment. Officials discussed PILOTs at last week’s Evesham Township Council meeting in response to a resident who brought forward concerns about the township’s 20-year PILOT agreement for a portion of the Shoppes and Residences at Renaissance Square development on Route 70.

Evesham Police seek suspect in bank robbery from Dec. 8

On Dec. 8 at 5:54 p.m., Evesham Township Police Officers responded to the PNC Bank at 300 Greentree Road for a report of an armed bank robbery in progress. According to police, an investigation determined that a male, dressed in all black, wearing a facemask and armed with a handgun, allegedly entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. After filling a sack with an undetermined amount of money, police say the male fled on foot towards Greentree Road.

The Evesham Township Police Department is reminding residents to stay safe while out shopping this holiday season. During this hectic time of year, police officials are promoting the following safety tips for locals to remember while they’re out and about shopping for all the special ones in their lives.

Evesham Council approves rezoning of piece of land on Stow Road for use as senior housing

A two-acre plot of land on Stow Road could see senior housing in the future thanks to a zoning change approved by Evesham Township Council. Although the land sits in an area of town zoned for industrial use, with office parks and several other vacant properties close by, Evesham Township’s Planning Board recommended council adopt the change.
