Mt. Laurel Library to host next ‘Musicals of the 60s’ film event on Dec. 22

This event will feature a showing of the 1968 film “Finian’s Rainbow” staring Fred Astaire and Petula Clark.

The Mt. Laurel Library is set to host its next event in its “Musicals of the 60s” series at 2 p.m. on Dec. 22 with a showing of the 1968 film “Finian’s Rainbow” staring Fred Astaire and Petula Clark.

Astaire plays the titular Irishman out to bury a pot of gold stolen from leprechauns. Along the way Astaire and daughter Clark encounter a union-organizing tobacco farmer, a racist senator and the magical creature in search of its lost loot.

Songs include “How are Things in Glocca Morra?” and “Look to the Rainbow.”

This film has a 145-minute runtime and there will be a brief intermission during this film. This event is hosted by Irv Slifkin. No registration is required to attend.
