Evesham Police credit alert officers for recovering stolen truck minutes after it was stolen

On Dec. 2 at 3:45 a.m., ETPD received a call from a resident of Shady Lane reporting their Ford F350 was stolen from outside their home.

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Dec. 2 at 3:45 a.m., ETPD received a 911 call from a resident in the 300 block of Shady Lane reporting that their Ford F350 was just stolen from outside their home.

While responding, police say an alert officer observed a vehicle matching the description on Route 70 by Elmwood Road.

Upon the arrival of a second backup unit, police say officers attempted to stop the vehicle, at which time police say the driver of the stolen truck accelerated in an attempt to elude officers.

According to police, pursuit of the vehicle ended when the truck became disabled after striking a curb on Evesboro Medford Road.

Police say the driver fled from the vehicle and officers gave chase on foot before catching the suspect in the rear yard of a home in the Colts Gate Development.

Arrested:

A male, age 25, of Philadelphia, was charged with third-degree theft of a vehicle, second-degree eluding, third-degree possession of burglary tools, and fourth-degree resisting arrest. He was released on his own recognizance.
