Hurffville Elementary School student make cards for hospice patients

Fifth graders and first graders collaborated on the holiday project for those in need

Fifth-grade students in Jackie Tiger-Williams and Matt Murray’s class at Hurffville Elementary School recently joined up with first-graders in Kathy Saia’s class to work on holiday cards for local hospice patients.

Hurffville Elementary School fifth- and first-graders work together to create cards for hospice patients.

The fifth-graders, who already had made cards, used their expertise to guide the first-graders in creating uplifting mementos. There already are plans to have the classes work together on other projects during the school year.

“All of the students loved working together on the cards, but also engaged in discussions that will lead to lasting friendships,” Saia said. “We look forward to having the students work together again.”
