Mt. Laurel Police reports drug overdose, armed robbery, package theft and more in recent blotter

The following information is on file with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department:

On Nov. 28, patrols responded to Sumac Court and Sedgefield Drive for the report of a package stolen from a porch. Upon arrival, both victims reported that UPS delivered a package on this date and left it on their front porch. When they arrived home from work the packages were gone.

On Nov. 27, patrols responded to the Game Stop in Centerton Square for a reported armed robbery. Investigation determined that an unknown male suspect entered the store wearing dark clothing and a mask. The suspect brandished a gun and demanded money from the employee. After taking an undetermined amount of cash and the employee’s wallet, he fled the scene in a tan colored vehicle. No injuries were reported. This investigation is ongoing.

On Nov. 27, an unknown subject stole several hundred pounds of aluminum extrusions from a business located on Briggs Road. The aluminum was unsecured in the rear of the property. The total value of the theft is estimated at approximately $2,000.

On Nov. 27, a 58-year-old male from Trenton shoplifted approximately $20 worth of alcohol from a liquor store on State Highway 38. He was arrested and released on a summons.

On Nov. 26, a 22-year-old male from Atco was arrested on Route 73 near I-295 for driving while intoxicated. He refused to submit to breath testing and was charged accordingly.

On Nov. 25, patrols responded to the 500 block of Fellowship Road for a fight in progress. It was determined that the victim mistakenly left sunglasses on a bathroom sink. When he went to retrieve the glasses, he observed the suspect put them in his pocket. The victim confronted the suspect at which time the suspect assaulted him causing minor injuries. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. The suspect was identified as a 24-year-old male from Baltimore.

On Nov. 25, patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 and Midlantic Drive. During the stop, the officer seized a quantity of marijuana from the vehicle. The 19-year-old male from Wilmington, Del. was arrested, processed and released pending a court date.

On Nov. 22, patrols responded to the parking lot of Centerton Square. A victim reported that while at work, an unknown suspect entered her vehicle and stole her vehicle radio and purse.

On Nov. 22, patrols responded to Route 73 for a traffic complaint. A suspect’s vehicle was located in a parking lot. After making contact with a 33-year-old male from Galloway, officers observed methamphetamine in the center console of the vehicle. After searching the vehicle, a quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine and prescription pills were seized. The driver was arrested, processed and released pending a court date.

On Nov. 21, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a residence on Ralston Drive for the report of a drug overdose. The family and responding officers administered Narcan to the unconscious 21-year-old female and reversed the overdose. She was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

On Nov. 21, patrols responded to the 1000 block of Briggs Road for the report of suspects attempting to gain access to vehicles in the parking lot. One victim reported $20 stolen from their unlocked vehicle parked in the lot. During a check of the area, patrols located a 19-year-old male from Willingboro who matched the description of one of the suspects. During the investigation, it was determined that he had stolen property in his possession from an earlier theft from a motor vehicle on Hartford Road. Investigation revealed that the suspect used a stolen credit card at multiple businesses in Mt Laurel. The suspect was arrested and charged with credit card theft, hindering his apprehension and tampering with evidence. He was released on a summons pending a court date.
