Non-working strands of indoor and outdoor lights can be deposited at the Resource Recovery Complex
As residents begin decorating their homes for the winter holiday season, Burlington County Freeholder Deputy Director Kate Gibbs announced today that residents can recycle non-working strands of indoor and outdoor holiday lights at Burlington County’s Resource Recovery Complex.
“It’s that time of year again when you take out the holiday lights, plug them in, and nothing happens,” said Deputy Director Gibbs. “Instead of tossing them in your trash, help keep the holidays ‘green’ by recycling your non-working strands of indoor and outdoor holiday lights at the County’s Resource Recovery Complex.”
“Strings of lights should never be placed in curbside recycling carts or buckets,” added Deputy Director Gibbs. “When delivering strands of lights to the Resource Recovery Complex, we ask that residents place them in clear plastic bags or cardboard boxes.”
This free program is open to all Burlington County residents. The Resource Recovery Complex is located at 22000 Burlington-Columbus Road in Florence and is open Monday through Friday 7AM to 5 PM and Saturdays 7AM to 12 PM.
Additionally, residents of Burlington Township, Cinnaminson, Delran, Evesham, and Florence can bring their holiday lights to their township ewaste recycling dropoff, but should contact their town directly for hours of operation.
