Haddonfield House Tour
Interfaith Caregivers is hosting Haddonfield’s annual House Tour Thursday, Dec. 14. Participants will be able to tour five festive Haddonfield homes while making additional stops at the Haddonfield United Methodist Church and the Indian King Tavern.
“It’s a great holiday tradition, it is a wonderful way to get into the spirit of the holidays,” Interfaith Caregivers Executive Director Mary Ann Bigelow said.
Guests will tour a charming ranch home off West Mt. Vernon Avenue that features hand-knit Christmas stockings and a collection of samplers from the 1700s and 1800s. Continuing down West Mt. Vernon Avenue, guests will see a 1926 Sinquet-built Colonial housing a Christmas tree with unique ornaments from all over the world. A Queen Anne Victorian home built in 1892 with stained glass windows by Paul Friend will be on display. Guests can also enter a Revolutionary War home on Kings Highway. The tour is concluded with a visit to the Indian King Tavern, which has been designed for the holiday season with Colonial-period décor by the Haddonfield Garden Club.
Tickets are $20 in advance, or guests can purchase a $25 ticket on the day of the tour. Tours run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Those interested are directed to purchase tickets online at ifchaddons.org. Tickets are also available at Interfaith Caregivers, located behind Borough Hall, the Haddonfield Library or the Haddonfield Information Center.
“All proceeds go to help Interfaith Caregivers’ mission to helping people 65-plus and those with disabilities remain independent and live with dignity,’’ Bigelow said.
