Pinelands Library; Movies, Drawing, Cooking, and More

Pineland Library in Medford brings citizens fun and educational programs to benefit all ages.

Those winter holidays will be here before you know it. Thanksgiving brings us football and too much food and cozy naps in front of the fireplace before the December holiday frenzy. Have you started your gift shopping yet, or have you at least made a list? So much to do and so little time.

We are hosting another session of Draw Live with Dragonwhaler on Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m. This program introduces children ages 6 and up to new techniques and methods to create their own artwork. Bring your imagination! In the future we hope to stream the classes live on Youtube for those who want to attend at home. Stay tuned for further updates.

Our friends at Shoprite of Medford continue to provide children’s programs to teach our youngsters about healthy eating. These programs are led by Registered Dieticians and allow the children to learn about cooking, measuring and nutrition as well as taste new foods. Snack attack is on the Nov. 28 at 4 p.m., and Kids Can Cook is on Dec. 6 at 4 p.m.

Our Family Movie Night selection is “Cars 3” to be shown on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. Pushed out of the race game by a new generation of racers, Lightening McQueen will need the help of all his old friends and possibly a new one to get back into the game. Feel free to bring your favorite blanket and snack.

Gage and Savana the Rhodesian Ridgebacks will be returning for Paws to Read on Dec. 5 between 4 and 5 p.m. to hear more stories. Be sure to sign up for a time if you would like to read to them.

Do you find our healthcare system confusing? Navigating the Healthcare System will be presented by Nancy Donatelli from the Medford Care Center on Dec. 4 at 1 p.m. She will be discussing will strategies for finding the best healthcare solutions for different circumstances. Topics include traditional and managed Medicare, secondary insurances, long-term care insurance and Medicaid.
