‘Flock’ your neighbors to help fund BTHS Project Graduation

In return for donating, Burlington Township residents can decorate any yard with up to 50 pink plastic flamingoes

Project Graduation, an all-night post-graduation party for BTHS seniors, wants you to get flocked.

In an effort to raise money for Project Graduation, BTHS is calling on community members to Flock a Friend. For a donation, you can have 10 to 50 pink lawn flamingos placed on a friend’s or family member’s yard for up to 48 hours.

Since Project Graduation was launched 1980, this tradition has become a nationwide initiative and has continued to be a safe alternative to post-graduation activities. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention observed that “Project Graduation has become much more than an event that occurs on graduation night. It is a communitywide planning process that strives to create a caring, supportive environment and more open communication between youths and adults.”

Flockings are done in the fall and spring. The flamingos fly south during the winter when the ground is frozen.

Order a flocking by completing a flyer and sending it into the Burlington Township High School Attn: Project Graduation — Flocking or at https://www.sites.google.com/site/burltwpfoundation/Proj-Grad.

Inquiries can be sent to 2018projectgraduation@gmail.com.
