High school sports playoff update: Cherry Hill West girls soccer falls short at Ocean City

The Lions lost in penalty kicks to the Red Raiders in the South Jersey Group III championship game.

Cherry Hill High School West girls soccer saw its postseason run come to an end on Thursday afternoon as the Lions lost to Ocean City High School in penalty kicks in the South Jersey Group III championship game.

The two teams battled to a 0–0 draw through 80 minutes of regulation and two overtime periods. Cherry Hill West goalkeeper Madeline Sweeney made eight saves, while Ocean City goalkeeper Abbey Fenton stopped four shots.
