The students and staff from the Sequoia Alternative Program hosted a Car Show on Saturday, Oct. 28 to raise funds to aide in the recovery efforts for Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. More than 40 antique, modified and pro-street automobiles competed in several different categories ranging from “Student’s Choice” to “Best Antique Car or Truck.” The event turned out to be a huge success for the program with more than $2,000 raised for the United Way Disaster Recovery Funds.

Sequoia Alternative Program Director Ben Lamberson said, “I couldn’t be prouder of our students and staff for all their hard work in making this event an absolute success. Teaching our students the importance of community service is one of the cornerstones of our program. Today’s event was an excellent example of the positive impact even a small program like ours can have when we work together to make a difference.”
