The medical and surgical ophthalmology practice held a breast cancer fundraising event in Blackwood.
The following is a press release from Eye Associates:
Since 1999, Eye Associates has participated in the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign every year. Back in 1999, they participated in the Lee National Denim Day. On that day, their employees would wear denim to work and make a contribution to the Breast Cancer Awareness fund and Eye Associates would match each employee’s contribution.
In 2007, Eye Associates joined with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. The employees would wear pink to work on a particular day in October and make a donation in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Again, Eye Associates would match their donations.
“Many of our employees and their loved ones have been impacted by breast cancer,” said Gina Biagi, Administrator of Eye Associates. “It is important for us to keep this tradition alive. As a former Executive Director of the American Cancer Society I have seen the pain and anxiety breast cancer brings to the families in Cumberland County as well as my own. This is why this cause is so close to our hearts here at Eye Associates.”
Eye Associates employees continued the fun on Oct. 20 and dressed up in PINK, while helping others by keeping breast cancer awareness at the forefront. To date, Eye Associates Breast Cancer donations are more than $10,000 and still growing. Eye Associates and their employees are dedicated to supporting this fight while being “Passionately PINK for the Cure.”
