Haddonfield United Methodist Church Senior Pastor Christopher Heckert has used his persistence and drive to build a success story beyond his rural hometown of Kittanning, Pa. From playing guitar at events featuring American activist Al Sharpton all the way to missionary work in some of the most dangerous third world countries on the planet, it is safe to say Heckert’s story is one worth reading. Heckert’s passion for music and the challenges he has faced in life have shaped him into the man he is today. The pain and heartache he has gone through not only molded the fabric of his being but led him closer to God.

HMS encouraging students to serve as ‘up standers’ with implementation of STOPit app

Haddonfield Middle School Principal Tracy Matozzo said middle school is typically when students are on the precipice of getting a cell phone, and her goal is to see her students become responsible digital citizens. For that reason, the middle school is in the process of rolling out the STOPit app within the next month. The STOPit app will have certain phone numbers, such as Matozzo’s, the assistant principal and the HIB coordinator, plugged in confidentially, so if a student is being harassed or followed home by another student, for example, they can report the harassment immediately.

Sweet Sixteen: Haddonfield girls tennis continues South Jersey dominance with another sectional title

The Bulldawgs rolled to their 16th consecutive sectional championship last Tuesday, defeating Seneca High School, 5–0, in the South Jersey Group II championship. The sectional championship is the 37th in the program’s history. The biggest advantage the Bulldawgs have over opponents is their depth. Haddonfield has more than enough talent to fill all seven starting spots on varsity each year. The preseason is one of the most intense parts of the season as the players on the team play challenge matches against one another to fill the starting positions on varsity.
