Clearview junior Eric Uhorchuk leaves ‘legacy at Clearview’

When Clearview Regional High School junior Eric Uhorchuk was a freshman, his English classroom was located next to a courtyard. Originally a Japanese garden, the space had begun to deteriorate and the uncomfortable, drab atmosphere quickly disappointed students when they grabbed their beach towels to read under the sun. When confronted with the decision of what to do for his Eagle Scout service project, Uhorchuk, an honors architecture student, envisioned a renovated Romanesque vegetable garden for the courtyard, which would provide students a serene space to read and learn, as well as fresh food for local food pantries and the school’s culinary arts program.

Clearview seniors aim to finish final tennis season strong

Seniors and varsity tennis players Emily Molczan and twins Saige and Chloe Simcox never imagined they would individually be 13–1 leading up to the South Jersey Group 3 Quarterfinals against Lacey Township High School. Although the Clearview High School Pioneers took a 3.5–1.5 loss at the Oct. 10 game, the players and Mullica Hill residents had a positive outlook on finishing their last season strong.

‘Every little bit helps’

While many families will soon gather around the table to feast in celebration of the holiday season, many will not. Millions of Americans go hungry each day; therefore to combat food insecurities within the Mullica Hill community and its surrounding area, the Harrison Township Environmental Commission will host a food drive on Oct. 23 through Lights on Main on Nov. 25.
