Following their 6–1 victory over Pemberton on Oct. 11, the Cinnaminson High School field hockey team has clinched no worse than a tie for BCSL Patriot Division title for the first time in 13 years.

Leading-scorer Maura Tumelty recorded four goals in the win, and now has 28 goals on the season. The Cinnaminson Lady Pirates have a 12–1 record and are 9–1 in Patriot Division play.

The Lady Pirates all season so far have had one of the best goal differentials in the state. Cinnaminson has a strong defense, led by senior Hope Addlesburger, senior goalkeeper Grace Burns and three sophomores; Natalie Cooney, Abby McDonald, and Grace LePage. Cinnaminson has only given up eight goals through 13 games, and have given up just 44 shots the entire season.

Cinnaminson has also been helped by the strong play of midfielders; sophomore Alexis Ochman, junior Emily Rooney, and senior Serafina Kennedy (9 goals, 9 assists). The Pirates have had nine different players score and eight different players credited with assists in 2017.

The Pirates have already exceeded their goal total from a year ago, and will be favorites to go far in this season’s playoffs.
