Moorestown successfully completes Tractor Trailer Challenge

The two day event had residents successfully stuff a tractor trailer with donations for hurricane victims.

Volunteers at the Tractor-Trailer Challenge spent Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1 collecting donations at Wesley Bishop Park in Moorestown. The donations will be driven to Florida for distribution to victims of Hurricane Irma.

Moorestown was given a challenge — The Tractor Trailer Challenge — and residents, businesses, organizations, and schools all came together to meet that challenge on Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1.

Some of them brought donations from themselves, and some from their neighbors. Others held collections on their own, and then delivered them. There were those who spent weeks working to put this event together, and there were volunteers who gave up their weekend to make it happen, according to event organizer Nancy DiPasquale.

McCollister’s Transportation Group, Inc. offered a 53-foot tractor-trailer and transportation to Florida without hesitation, DiPasquale said.
