BCLS Steps Outside the Lines

Celebrate the Creativity and Innovation Happening at Libraries

This September, the Burlington County Library System is stepping “outside the lines” as it joins a global initiative designed to get people thinking — and talking — about their libraries in a whole new way.

A weeklong celebration of the creativity and innovation happening in libraries, “Outside the Lines” will run until Sept. 16. Throughout the week, libraries from around the world will host events to help demonstrate how they have evolved into dynamic centers for engagement, making them more relevant than ever. “We’re excited to join in this initiative that highlights how libraries have transformed to meet the growing needs of our communities,” said BCLS Director Ranjna Das. “Today’s libraries are dynamic community hubs that help everyone to be their best, and we look forward to showcasing all that BCLS has to offer.”

During the “Outside the Lines” celebration, BCLS libraries will reconnect with residents inside its buildings, as well as outside in the communities they serve. The goal is to reintroduce the libraries to the public and have people see them in a brand new light.

BCLS includes the Burlington County Library in Westampton, and the Bordentown, Cinnaminson, Evesham, Maple Shade, Pemberton, Pinelands and Riverton branches. For more information, call 609-267–9660 or visit www.bcls.lib.nj.us.
