September is Library Card Sign-Up Month

Gloucester County Library System providing students with a free library card

With back-to-school preparations well underway, the Gloucester County Library System joins public libraries nationwide to make sure every student has the most important school supply of all — a free library card.

At GCLS libraries, there are picture books and story books to help babies and preschoolers establish early literacy skills; books for beginning readers and for older elementary school students; and books for high school and beyond.

Today’s libraries also offer eBooks, downloadable magazines, music, movies and much more. The MakerStudio@GCLS in Mullica Hill offers everyone the chance to experience new technology like 3D printing, music mixing, and traditional handicrafts as well.

Research shows libraries play a critical role in the preparation of early learners, and set the foundation for a lifetime of learning. A library card is the key.

For more information about GCLS libraries and how to go about getting your very own card visit www.gcls.org, or call (856) 223–6070.

During the month of September the library is waiving the fee for a lost library card. Stop by any GCLS library for a free replacement card.
