The following reports are on file with the Harrison Township Police Department:

On Thursday, Aug. 17, at 11:08 p.m., Ptl. Gregory Germscheid of the Harrison Township Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Cedar Road for a vehicle that was weaving in and out of its lane of travel. While speaking with the male driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, Ptl. Michael Flannery, who was assisting Germscheid, observed a small piece of suspected marijuana on the floor of the vehicle. After having the driver, a 25-year-old male from Vineland, exit the vehicle, Flannery retrieved the marijuana from the vehicle. Germscheid and Flannery conducted a probable cause search for any additional contraband. The search yielded a clear plastic bag containing additional suspected marijuana inside a clear plastic jar in the center console of the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and issued a criminal summons for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lane, driving with a suspended license, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. He was released pending a hearing in Harrison Township Municipal Court.

While on scene, officers observed two vehicles with windows smashed. It is reported that a set of golf clubs was stolen from one of the vehicles. It is unknown what else, if anything, was taken as the investigating officer, Ptl. Gregory Germscheid, was unable to make contact with the vehicle owners yet. Germscheid is being assisted by Ptl. Michael Flannery with the investigation.

During the investigation, officers determined the driver of the vehicle, a 54-year-old male from Monroeville, to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to Pitman Police Department to be tested on the Alcotest. After providing samples of his breath, he was transported to Harrison Township Police Headquarters where he was processed, issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to exhibit registration, failure to exhibit insurance, and unsafe vehicle. He was released to a sober party pending a Harrison Township Municipal Court date. The investigation is being handled by Ptl. Kevin McGowan. He was assisted by Ptl.
