Winslow Police to host 1st Annual “Cops & Bobbers”

The Oct 14. event strives to tighten ties between officers and the community.

The Winslow Township Police Department will host its 1st annual “Cops & Bobbers” event on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m at Oak Pond, located at 220 Blue Anchor Road, Sicklerville NJ 08081.

The event’s goal is to teach children about fishing, aiming to direct their attention away from negative influences like gangs, drugs and criminal activity. Additionally, the department hopes that friendships will develop between officers and the kids. Ideally, those bonds will resound past the lake and spread throughout the community.

The Winslow Township Fire Department, Winslow Township EMS, Winslow Township Municipal Drug and Alcohol Alliance, GCADA, NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife, local businesses and volunteers from around the area will be on hand to assist, as well.

The rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 15.
