Three Mt. Laurel Girl Scouts mark and map trails in Rancocas State Park for Silver Award Project

Those looking to navigate trails in Rancocas State Park now have help thanks to the work of three Mt. Laurel Girl Scouts from Troop 22017. Scouts Emma Colucci, Kylie Patella and Katie Troillo started at an entrance to Rancocas State Park, located behind Mt. Laurel’s Spencer Park, and worked with the Mount Laurel Fire Department to mark and map four trails at the park using Geographic Information System devices.

Mt. Laurel Area Women’s Club to host ‘Kick Off’ meeting for new membership year on Sept. 19

The Mt. Laurel Area Women’s Club is set to host its “Kick Off” meeting for the new 2017–2018 membership year on Sept. 19. All new members are welcome to attend this event and learn more about the group. Refreshments will be made available.

Next Book and Media Sale at Burlington County Library to run Sept. 7 through Sept. 10

Bargain hunters can stop by the Burlington County Library in Westampton from Sept. 7 through Sept. 10 to browse at the Friends of the Library’s used books and media sale. According to the library, shoppers will find thousands of items available in the library’s meeting room, including a wide selection of books, CDs and DVDs.

Burlington County agencies partner for suicide awareness and prevention walk on Sept. 10

Burlington County Freeholder Linda Hughes has announced that CONTACT of Burlington County and the Burlington County Department of Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health and Traumatic Loss Coalition, are hosting an inaugural suicide awareness and prevention walk. The walk will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Burlington County Human Services Facility, 795 Woodlane Road in Westampton.

Lenape Regional High School District opens Sept. 5 for 2017–2018 school year

Looking forward to the start of school this year, Lenape Regional High School District Superintendent Carol Birnbohm spoke at this week’s BOE meeting on how district staff spent their time this summer in numerous professional development classes. “Back to School Nights” have also been scheduled for the district’s four schools, with Back to School Night at Cherokee and Seneca high schools set for Oct. 4, and Back to School Night at Lenape and Shawnee high schools set for Oct. 5.
