Burlington County agencies partner for suicide awareness and prevention walk on Sept. 10

The walk will be held at the Burlington County Human Services Facility in Westampton. The walk will kick-off at 10 a.m.

Burlington County Freeholder Linda Hughes has announced that CONTACT of Burlington County and the Burlington County Department of Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health and Traumatic Loss Coalition, are hosting an inaugural suicide awareness and prevention walk.

The walk will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Burlington County Human Services Facility, 795 Woodlane Road in Westampton.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the walk will kick-off at 10 a.m.

“This inaugural event is an important step in reaching out to everyone in our Burlington County community with support, education and resources. We walk together to make a difference, to let people know that help is available,” Hughes said. “This event is also an opportunity for those who face or have faced mental health struggles to support one another and feel the support from our community.”

Hughes said the walk would be a great opportunity for all involved to celebrate life, and to remember and pay tribute to those they have lost.
