Mt. Laurel Police K-9 sniffs more than 200 grams of marijuana in vehicle in latest police report

The following information is on file with the Mt. Laurel Police Department:

At 1:23 a.m. on Aug. 13, officers with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department located a suspicious occupied vehicle at the Wawa, 3605 Route 38.

According to police, when an officer approached the vehicle, two occupants got out of the car and walked away. Police say the officer detained the driver, but the passenger refused to obey commands to stop.

Police say a male, age 31, of Burlington, was arrested and charged with obstruction of the administration of law.

According to police, police K-9 Gunner was at the scene and alerted to the scent of drugs in the vehicle.

Police say officers located more 200 grams of marijuana and drug distribution materials in the vehicle.

A male, age 31, of Pemberton, was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released pending a court hearing.

The following information is on file with the Mt. Laurel Police Department:

At 3:15 a.m. on Aug. 18, an EZ Pass transmitter was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on the 300 block of Evans Court.

At 7:04 a.m. on Aug. 17, Mt. Laurel Police responded to Lifetime Fitness on Church Road for the report of a break in to a vehicle. The investigation revealed three vehicles were broken into between 6 and 7 a.m. Jewelry, wallets credit cards and purses were stolen. The suspects were operating a white Nissan titan truck with its license plates removed.

At 9:57 a.m. on Aug. 17, Mt. Laurel Police responded to Martin’s Liquors for a shoplifting report. The investigation revealed that a male suspect entered the store and stole more than $400 worth of liquor. A suspect has been identified and police expect criminal charges to be filed soon.

An employee of the Birchfield Community Center reported that between Aug. 15 and Aug. 17, someone entered a locked portion of the clubhouse and stole $40 from a cash box. The investigation revealed a male, age 26, of Mt. Laurel, was able to access a key to the building and steal the money. He was arrested and charged with burglary and theft. He was released pending a court hearing.

At 8:07 p.m. on Aug. 16, a member of the YMCA on Centerton Road reported someone forced open his locker in the men’s room and stole money from his wallet.

At 6:32 p.m. on Aug. 16, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the 100 block of Downing Court for a suspicious person complaint. Officers arrested a male, age 45, of Mt. Laurel for outstanding warrants. He was also found in possession of drugs and was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana. He was committed to the Burlington County jail.

At 1:40 p.m. on Aug. 16, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Church Road near Heather Drive. During the stop, officers arrested a female, age 28, of Marlton, for outstanding warrants. She was also charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of hypodermic syringes. She was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

Sometime between Aug. 15 and Aug. 16, someone burned a baseball backdrop net at the Laurel Acres Baseball Fields.

At 2:44 p.m. on Aug. 15, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the area of 6000 Atrium Way for a suspicious person report. Officers arrested a female, age 30, of Pine Hill. She was charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She also had several warrants from multiple jurisdictions. She was committed to the Burlington County jail.

At 2:20 p.m. on Aug. 15, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the U.S. Immigration Office at 530 Fellowship Road for the report of a wanted person at the location. Officers arrested a female, age 34, of Long Branch. She was wanted for probation violations out of Burlington and Mercer Counties as well as Falls Township, Pa. for drug related charges. There were additional warrants from several other jurisdictions as well. Lopez was charged with being a fugitive from justice and committed to the Burlington County Jail.

At 4:23 a.m. on Aug. 15, a log was thrown through the rear sliding glass door of a residence on the 500 block of Willow Turn.

At 12:50 a.m. on Aug. 15, a resident on the 100 block of Bently Drive was awoken by the sound of their garage door opening. The resident observed two men rummaging through their car that was parked in the driveway. The suspects apparently hit the garage door opener inside of the vehicle. They left without taking anything. Another unlocked vehicle belonging to a neighbor was also entered but nothing was taken.

At 4 a.m. on Aug. 14, 240 feet of coaxial cable was cut and removed from the base of a Verizon cell phone tower located at 2026 Briggs Road.

On Aug. 14, an employee of Lexus of Cherry Hill, 1230 Route 73, Mt. Laurel, reported that a customer had $3000 worth of work done to their car on June 8. An international credit card was given as payment via phone. The transaction cleared, but was later disputed and Lexus has not yet received payment.

At 2:38 a.m. on Aug. 14, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a hotel on the 5000 block of Clover Road for a disturbance. During the investigation, officers arrested a female, age 19, of Mt. Holly, for outstanding warrants. She was turned over to another law enforcement agency. Also arrested was a female, age 36, of Browns Mills, and a female, age 23, of Pemberton Borough. Both were charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released pending a court hearing.

A guest of a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73 reported that someone stole cash and jewelry from her room sometime between Aug. 12 and Aug. 13.

At 10:40 p.m. on Aug. 11, officers located a suspicious occupied vehicle in the parking lot of a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73. During the investigation, officers arrested male, age 23, of Maple Shade. He was wanted out of Delaware County, Pa. and had other local warrants. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail. Also arrested was a male, age 38, of Pine Hill. He was charged with possession of hypodermic syringes and released pending a court hearing.

The owner of a vehicle parked in the parking lot of Carlucci’s Restaurant reported that her vehicle was damaged on Aug. 10 between 7:30 and 9:40 p.m. Rocks were thrown at the vehicle breaking the windshield.

Between 1:30 a.m. and noon on August 11, a white and blue 2007 Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle was stolen from the parking area near the 800 building of Bradley Court.
