Town Council passes three development plans on second reading

At last Tuesday’s Medford Town Council meeting, plans for the Hartford Square, Stokes Square and Arc Wheeler redevelopment areas were approved on second reading.

The Hartford Square redevelopment area is located near the intersection of Hartford Road and Route 70. The development will take place on open space between the CVS store and a wooded area along Hartford Road. The redevelopment plan calls for a 70-unit, 100 percent affordable housing development. The rental units will be available for seniors, veterans and disabled individuals.

Burlington County’s First Ever Climate Change Film Festival coming Sept. 30

The Medford Religious Society of Friends have teamed up with the Pinelands Preservation Alliance to show a Climate Change film festival from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 30 at the Pinelands Preservation Alliance facility at 17 Pemberton Road in Southampton.

Admission is free. Attenders may bring lunch or reserve a vegetarian lunch for $10.

Vouchers are still available for New Jersey Senior Farmer’s Market Program

Freeholder Linda Hughes is reminding residents that vouchers for the New Jersey Senior Farmer’s Market Program are still available. The program is a joint effort between the USDA and the NJ Department of Agriculture that provides low income seniors with $25 in voucher form to purchase New Jersey farmers locally grown produce.
