Free el Gran Combo concert coming to BB&T Pavilion

The Camden County Department of Special Events is bringing salsa to Camden County residents.

The “most famous salsa group that has ever existed” is coming to Camden. A concert featuring el Gran Combo has been rescheduled for Monday, Aug. 28 at the BB&T Pavilion in the city. The concert was originally scheduled for June 19 at Wiggins Waterfront Park but was postponed due to poor weather conditions.

“The concert is free to all attendees and there are absolutely no tickets required,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Ed McDonnell, liaison to the Camden County Department of Special Events. “Limited pavilion seating will be available in addition to the thousands of seats for those who will spread across the venue’s lawn area. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the concert starting at 8 p.m. rain or shine.”

El Gran Combo is a Puerto Rican salsa group that rose to fame during the 1970s. Sometimes called “the most famous salsa group that has ever existed,” el Gran Combo is Puerto Rico’s most successful musical group of all time. In the band’s more than 50 years of playing and recording music, it has released more than 70 albums, all of which are certified either platinum or gold.

All BB&T Pavilion rules and guidelines will be in effect during this concert. This includes rules mandating what concert-goers may and may not bring into the venue. It is recommended that attendees view this list before the day of the show. A list of these guidelines and other rules can be found at https://www.livenationvenue.com/susquehanna-bank-center.

Fans and concert-goers should continue to check www.camdencounty.com for information about the many other exciting events taking place in the county this summer.
