Communities and neighbors connect, one rock at a time

When residents Amy Burrows Enever and Laura Rohanna created the Facebook page “Washington Township Rocks” on July 23, they didn’t expect it to grow as quickly as it did. Within weeks, more than 2,000 residents and community members have joined, sharing images of painted rock creations hidden or found throughout the township.

Camden man pleads guilty to Washington Township sexual assault

Terry J. Walker, 32, of Camden, was sentenced Friday, Aug. 4, to seven years in state prison after pleading guilty to second-degree sexual assault by improperly touching and having oral sex with a child under age 13 in Washington Township in October, 2012. Under the New Jersey No Early Release Act, Walker must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he can be considered for parole.

‘Everyone dances their own way’

Mitchell Savitsky’s parents knew to put him into dance classes at the age of four, when he created a dance circle on the boardwalk to the music playing on a nearby amusement ride. Seven years later, Mitchell’s passion has led him to modeling, acting and most recently, a major role in the famous rapper, singer and songwriter Macklemore’s music video, “Marmalade,” featuring rapper and singer Lil Yachty.
