Haddonfield schools to open on time despite construction

In a letter from the Haddonfield Board of Education released Aug. 8, the board addressed ongoing construction at the schools.

School construction projects are on schedule with Haddonfield schools still slated to open on Monday, Sept. 11, according to a letter from the Haddonfield Board of Education released Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Some construction projects will continue throughout the school year with Haddonfield Memorial High School’s l “B” wing and stadium are closed. Air conditioning will be completed by Spring 2018.

Due to the construction, the district will not offer on-site parking for parents or students during the 2017–2018 school year. Parents can expect additional information about drop-off procedures and traffic patterns communicated from each school’s principal at the start of the school year. Faculty will receive further information on parking by Aug. 25.

“As anticipated, we are finding differing underlying conditions and surprises as we proceed,” the letter said. “However, with the help of thorough planning and good professionals, we are adjusting and meeting the demands on schedule and within budget.”

The school community is encouraged to reach out to school officials, administrators or board members with any questions or concerns. Questions can be submitted to http://haddonfieldbondreferendum.com/faqs/
