Burlington Township 10U Baseball World Series Update

The Burlington Township Falcons have suffered some tough defeats so far at the Cal Ripken World Series.

On Saturday, the Falcons fell 1–0 against New England in their opening game in the World Series in Hammond, IN. Starting pitcher Jordan Barclay pitched three strong innings, allowing only two hits, zero runs, and striking out eight hitters.

Josiah Cuesta came in for Barclay in the fourth inning, getting out of a two-men on no-outs jam. New England scored the winning run however, in the sixth inning with a RBI double to right center with runners on first and second.

On Sunday, the Falcons outplayed Mobile, AL but fell 4–3 in their second game of the tournament. Despite smacking nine hits compared to Mobile’s two, the Falcons fell in the bottom of the sixth for the second consecutive day.

Joe Scimone was voted the BT Player of the Game, while Kyle Stoner and Sean Hefferman combined for 66 pitches between them.

On Monday, Burlington Township had a much-tougher time, losing to hosts Hammond, 11–1. The Falcons could only muster three hits offensively, while committing three errors defensively. Scimone was the bright spot, earning Player of the Game honors.

The Falcons (0–3) conclude pool play on Tuesday, facing off with South East Denver, CO (1–1).
