The armed robbery took place at a Washington Township gas station on April 23, 2015
A 32-year old from Berlin NJ was sentenced on July 31 to five years in New Jersey state prison after pleading guilty to participating with two others in a April 23, 2015 armed robbery of a Washington Township gas station.
In the holdup, a male held a handgun on a station attendant at the Gastrol station on the Black Horse Pike while a female took cash and cigarettes. They fled in a car.
An investigation by the Washington Township Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office determined that the Berlin female was a suspect in the robbery. She was arrested April 30, 2015. She pleaded guilty to second-degree armed robbery July 10, 2017. Incarcerated since her arrest, she was sentenced July 31 by Superior Court Judge Kevin T. Smith.
A 35-year old male codefendant of West Berlin was charged at the same time as the female. He was returned on a parole violation to state prison where he had served time on an aggravated manslaughter conviction in Camden County. He pleaded guilty to first-degree armed robbery June 19, 2017 and is scheduled for sentencing Oct. 2 2017.
A 30-year old female codefendant of Haddon Township, believed to be the driver of the getaway car, has been admitted to Drug Court.
