  • Foreign film fans can visit the Mt. Laurel Library on July 16 at at 2 p.m. for a screening of the foreign film “Tampopo.” According to the library, the world’s first — and perhaps only — “noodle western” is Juzo Itami’s offbeat ode to food and westerns. After an altercation with a couple of thugs in a ramen restaurant, a cowboy hat-wearing truck driver and his pal decide to help the proprietor turn the spot into the best noodle joint around. In order to reach the top, however, the three new partners have to find the perfect recipe for noodles — and that’s no easy task. This film is for adults and is in Japanese with English subtitles. No registration is required.
