- Foreign film fans can visit the Mt. Laurel Library on July 16 at at 2 p.m. for a screening of the foreign film “Tampopo.” According to the library, the world’s first — and perhaps only — “noodle western” is Juzo Itami’s offbeat ode to food and westerns. After an altercation with a couple of thugs in a ramen restaurant, a cowboy hat-wearing truck driver and his pal decide to help the proprietor turn the spot into the best noodle joint around. In order to reach the top, however, the three new partners have to find the perfect recipe for noodles — and that’s no easy task. This film is for adults and is in Japanese with English subtitles. No registration is required.

- Family Fun Day at the Lake is coming to the JCC Camps at Medford this weekend. The event will take place from noon to 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. People of all ages can enjoy a day lounging at the lake and take part in fun activities such as volleyball, swimming and paddleboats. There will also be music and food trucks on both days. - Locals can test their mountain biking skills on Saturday at the Mountain Bike Skills Clinic Series. The clinic will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kresson Trails, located just off of Kresson Road west of the Springdale Road intersection in Cherry Hill. - Saturday will be the final chance for customers to shop Friends of the Cherry Hill Public Library’s July book sale. The sale will be open one last time on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the lower level conference center of the library. Customers can purchase a bag of books for just $5 on Saturday. - Williamstown Fire Company and Cecil Fire Company are teaming up to host the first 5K Mud Fun Challenge. The event will take place on Saturday at Olympic Fields, 2075 South Black Horse Pike, in Williamstown. The challenge will include firefighting-inspired challenges throughout the twisting woods of Olympic Fields. - Kids who aren’t into boogie boarding can instead head to Cape May on Sunday to participate in the 54th annual Captain Kidd Treasure Hunt. The hunt kicks off at 1 p.m. at Cape May Convention Hall, 714 Beach Avenue in Cape May. Children ages 3 to 10 can join Captain Will Kidd and search for the elusive buried treasure. - The 11th annual Lancaster Avenue Jazz and Arts Festival will make its return to Philadelphia this weekend. The festival will be open on Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. at Saunders Park Green, located at 39th Street and Powelton Avenue in West Philadelphia. This year’s festival will feature the “New Wave of Jazz.” The day will be full of music, entertainment, vendors, food trucks and more. The rain date is Sunday. There is no cost to attend. - Celebrate Bastille Day at Eastern State Penitentiary on Saturday. The penitentiary is teaming up with experimental cabaret troupe “The Bearded Ladies” for a presentation of the French Revolution in honor of Bastille Day. The performance is an hour-long spectacle of song, dance, and raining Tastykakes. The show begins at 5:30 p.m. and is free to attend.
