Berlin resident charged with terroristic threats against law enforcement
The following report is on file with The Berlin Police Department:
On July 1 at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers responded to the 100 Block of Clementon Road for the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival officers made contact with a female victim who advised her boyfriend was heavily intoxicated and making threats of possessing a weapon in the residence.
Patrol officers made contact with the male through a window and attempted to have the male come outside of the residence. The male refused to cooperate and then began to threaten violence against any police officers who were responding to the scene. At this time the Lower Camden County SRT arrived on scene and began to set up evacuations of nearby residences and negotiations.
Several hours later, the male attempted to run from the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
The male was charged accordingly, including terroristic threats against law enforcement. He was then taken to a nearby hospital for treatment where he was held.
The male has a pending court date in Camden County Superior Court.
