Young girls at home during recent robbery attempt in latest Mt. Laurel Police Report

The following reports are on file with the Mt. Laurel Police Department:

At 2 p.m. on June 26, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a residence on the 4600 block of Aberdeen Drive for a burglary in progress.

According to police, the investigation revealed that two young girls were home in their bedroom when they heard loud banging at the front door.

Police say they heard someone come into the house, they locked themselves in their room and called their mother.

According to police, the suspect may have heard the children and their dog in the locked bedroom, as the suspect then fled the residence.

Police say the department was called and officers discovered forced entry was made to the front door of the residence.

According to police, nothing appeared to have been stolen from the location.

At 1:22 a.m. on June 30, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Conover Court. During the stop, officers arrested a man, age 61, of Mt. Laurel. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

At 1:30 p.m. on June 29, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the area of Union Mill Road and Mt. Laurel Road for several reports of an erratic driver. Police located the suspect after he crashed into another vehicle on Union Mill Road at Hartford Road. The driver, a man, age 53, of Mt. Laurel was arrested. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, and possession of Klonopin pills without a prescription. He was released pending a court hearing.

At approximately 2:40 p.m. on June 28, police say a laptop computer was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at a business on the 2000 block of Crawford Place.

At midnight on June 29, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the 200 block of Saratoga Drive for a suspicious vehicle report. Officers arrested a male, age 22, of Mt. Laurel, for possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court hearing.

At 4:51 p.m. on June 26, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the report of a fire on the balcony of a residence in the 600 building of Courtney Way. The fire was extinguished by the sprinkler system but not before causing approximately $10,000 in damage. The fire appeared to be the result of a cigarette discarded into a trash can.

At 3:54 a.m. on June 28, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the report of a vehicle that had crashed into a utility pole on South Church Street at Roberts Lane. Officers arrested a male, age 27, of Mt. Laurel. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

A resident of the 1200 block of Stokes Road reported his 2007 Chevy Cobalt was stolen during the overnight hours of June 26 into June 27. On June 29, state police recovered the vehicle in Hainesport.

A guest at a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73 reported that between 9:20 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. on June 26, her unattended iPhone 7 plus was stolen from the pool area.

A guest at a hotel on the 900 block of Route 73 reported that a pair of Michael Kors sunglasses valued at $130 was stolen from his hotel room on June 26.

At 5:12 p.m. on June 26, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the area of Route 38 and Briggs Road for an erratic driver complaint. Officers located the vehicle and arrested a male, age 25, of Altmar, N.Y. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

A victim reported that her cell phone was stolen from a shopping cart after the phone was accidentally left in the cart. The theft occurred at the Shoprite on the 800 block of Union Mill Road at 7:50 p.m. on June 25.

Sometime between June 22 and June 25, police say someone entered the crawlspace underneath a vacant residence on Lake Drive. The suspect removed several sections of copper plumbing.

At 3:03 p.m. on June 23, Mt. Laurel Police conducted an investigation into suspicious activity at a motel on the 1100 block of Route 73. During the investigation, officers arrested a male, age 54, of Pinellas Park, Fla. He was charged with possession of over 50 grams of marijuana. Some of the marijuana was in the form of edible gummy bear candy. He was charged with possession of over 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court hearing.
