The Advancing Families Foundation, Inc. of Philadelphia recently presented a check for $2,000 to the Washington Township High School Jazz Band in the name of graduating senior Christopher Sawyer.

“Our company is very proud of the work and donations we are able to make in our communities to help individuals, families and groups to better themselves and the people around them,” The foundation’s president William Ingram wrote in his letter to band director Frank Appello. “We have been made aware of the good work you are doing with the kids in Washington Township schools through music studies in jazz and concert band. We are pleased to make a donation in the name of Christopher Sawyer to assist you and your program to continue that work. Kindly accept our check for $2,000 and our appreciation for all that you do.”

Appello, a teacher at Orchard Valley Middle School, graciously and gratefully accepted the gift for the program that he heads.

“I would like to thank William Ingram and The Advancing Families Foundation for this donation in the name of our jazz ensemble senior Chris Sawyer,” Appello said. “I am overwhelmed and humbled by Ingram’s generosity and willingness to give back to this community and our ensemble.”
