Joan T. Rochford (nee Toohey) of Haddonfield, Avalon and Naples, Fla. passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 6 surrounded by family. Joan was the beloved wife of the late John T. Rochford; loving mother to John (Trish), Neal (Laura), Brian, Peter, Bridget (Chris) Atzinger, Kyle Ann (Brian) Connelly, Dana (Joe) Lynn; “Grand-Fifi” to 20 grandchildren; “Great-Grand Fifi” to four and loving sister of Patricia (Clyde) Foster of Sarasota, Fla.
Joan’s family will receive friends on Sunday, June 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services at 15 West End Ave. in Haddonfield. All are invited to her mass of Christian burial on Monday, June 12 at 2 p.m. at Christ the King Church on 200 Windsor Ave. in Haddonfield. Interment will be private.
Joan graduated from Chestnut Hill College with honors, and she married and raised her family in Haddonfield. Joan founded Rochford Printing where she continually pushed the glass ceiling for women entrepreneurship while serving on numerous boards and committees advocating for a greater presence of women on corporate boards and in the workplace.
Joan’s numerous passions included world travel, being an accomplished artist (Fifi LaRue), Chestnut Hill College and Avalon Yacht Club. These passions were only to be outdone by her love of family, friends and her faith.
