NJ Transit bus driver fatally shot at Washington Township bus garage

A woman believed to have shot the driver took her own life at a nearby Mantua Township business

The following information was provided by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office

A New Jersey Transit bus driver was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon at a NJ Transit bus garage on the Black Horse Pike in Washington Township.

A woman believed to have shot the driver took her own life with a gun near a Mantua Township business at Center and Trenton streets a short time later.

The deceased driver has been identified as Ryon C. Reynolds, 45, of Sicklerville. The woman has been identified as Piacenta M. Jackson, 44, of Woodbury.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, the police departments of Washington and Mantua Townships and NJ Transit are investigating the incident.

According to the NJ Transit Public Relations Office, initial police information indicates this is “not a random shooting.”
