Hundreds of cancer survivors and their supporters came out on Sunday, June 4 for the seventh annual Kennedy Health Cancer Survivors Day Celebration and 5K Run/Walk held at Washington Lake Park.

The event raised $23,000 net proceeds of which will go toward the Patient Assistance Fund at Kennedy’s Center for Hope & Healing, located within the Kennedy Cancer Center in Washington Township.

The free event, which was open to the public, kicked off with the 5K run/walk. Kennedy Health Digital Marketing Specialist Christopher Mallard of Philadelphia, an avid runner, was the first place winner for the third consecutive year, clocking in at 18 minutes and 49 seconds.

Area cancer survivors were honored at the traditional survivors’ lap. Other highlights of the day included a cancer survivors’ craft project and a kids’ lap. For more information about Kennedy cancer services, please visit www.kennedycancer.org.
