Marlton Day on Main Street returns on June 10 to bring together local businesses and the community

This free, family friendly event will feature numerous vendors comprised of MBA members, along with food and fun for kids of all ages.

The Taste of Evesham might attract people to Main Street in May, and the annual Independence Day parade can fill Main Street in July, but when it comes to bringing crowds to Main Street in June, the spotlight is on Marlton Day.

The Marlton Business Association’s annual Marlton Day on Main Street returns this year on June 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

As in years past, this free, family friendly event will feature numerous vendors comprised of MBA members, along with food and fun for kids of all ages.

According to Dan Morton, president of the MBA, nearly 80 of the association’s member vendors are ready to line Main Street this year, along with five food trucks, blow-up attractions for kids, a K-9 demonstration from the Evesham Police Department and even a motorcycle show hosted by Holman Auto Group, the lead sponsor for this year’s event.

Morton said vendors are ready to hand out prizes, coupons and gift cards, run raffles and hold other giveaways to make for a fun-filled day.

“This free event is the signature community gathering for the MBA and combines the business, local nonprofits and local communities into a fun-filled day,” Morton said.

Although Marlton Day on Main Street originally began as the “The Marlton Expo” in 2006, Morton said since that time, the event has morphed from an event bringing businesses into contact with other businesses to an event meant to bring businesses into contact with the community.

According to Morton, whether residents are looking for information on local home improvement services, banks, insurance, exterminators or more, Marlton Day will give residents a chance to meet dozens of local businesses to support.

“Over the years, we realized we’d have more of an impact and bring more people to the event if we did this as a way to bring business to the community and bring an awareness to the community that our businesses and the MBA are here,” Morton said.

Morton also noted that proceeds from Marlton Day support many of the association’s charitable endeavors throughout the year, including providing four $2,500 scholarships to students at Cherokee High School and holding events such as a recent free senior picnic lunch for members of the Marlton Senior Club.

“My belief is that if you can get out and rub elbows with people, eventually they’re going to remember you for it. Being involved with our community or a charitable level just makes sense,” Morton said.
