Moorestown BOE member elected as VP for legislation/resolutions of the New Jersey School Boards Association

Pugh currently serves as vice president of the Moorestown board.

Moorestown Board of Education member Brandon J. Pugh was elected vice president for legislation/resolutions of the New Jersey School Boards Association during the organization’s semi-annual Delegate Assembly. The meeting took place on Saturday, May 20 at Mercer County Community College in West Windsor.

The Burlington County resident will serve a two-year term in the volunteer position. Pugh currently serves as vice president of the Moorestown board. He is also a trustee of the Moorestown Education Foundation, chair of the policy and governance committee, and delegate to the state and county school boards associations. He also serves as president of the Burlington County School Boards Association, and has been an alternate member of the NJSBA Board of Directors.

He has also earned the designations of Certificated Board Member, Master Board Member and Certified Board Leader through the NJSBA Board Member Academy.

The New Jersey School Boards Association is a non-partisan federation of the state’s local boards of education that provides training, advocacy and support services to promote student achievement through effective local school board governance.

Pugh cited the NJSBA’s active legislative focus, and says he hopes to improve it further through greater mobilization, training, visibility and federal relations.

Pugh graduated from The College of New Jersey and is a student at Rutgers Law School. He is also a master continuity practitioner through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Pugh works as president and chief executive officer of a homeland security consulting firm. He is also a board member on the Governor’s Advisory Council on Volunteerism and the managing editor of Journal of Law and Cyber Warfare.
